Polling, politics and new media

I'm adding another few things to my paper. I found a couple of pieces about the integrity of polling. One author asserts that the growing numbers and types of media outlets have caused political polls to become more plentiful and less reliable. The shift in polling is negatively impacting the public's understanding of political races, according to these articles. This is definitely something I need to look into further.

I have some work to do on my video still. I'm planning to include interviews and narrate the rest of it myself. More info on that soon...

  1. I chose to do the same thing for my video. The two interviews I got were on tape so I can use the information in the paper and the tape for my video. I hope your video will have graphics or slides that can visually show the numerical break-down of political polling because it seems as if it might be complex.

Topics like this can be overwhelming for people, but if they have a visual representation and a verbal repersenatation explaining things to them then the information can be assessible to all type of learners.

Sounds interesting. I do not understand political polling and how it can accurately measure what America is thinking but hopefully after your presentation I will.

I heard in my Media Ethics Class that as time has gone on , during poltical races we actually hear less and less from the candidates. Instead we hear only small soundbites. Thus, why watching debates are wildly popular...America wants to hear from the candidates.
